RESEARCH

A primary focus of the research conducted by Dr. Love and his students is protein design. We recently had great success in the design, production, and biophysical characterization of novel protein/protein interactions. We are currently using these results, in addition to a series of self-associating proteins, to generate novel biomaterial. In a separate project we are also selectively altering the thermal stability of certain proteins and then determining the effects that the altered stability has on protein function. In addition to these protein design projects, Dr. Love also oversees a USDA funded project in which Environmental Science students design, implement, and build urban agriculture facilities at the College Area Community Garden. Links to more detailed descriptions of these different projects are provided below.
