A relatively new area of research currently being pursued within the Love Laboratory, which stems from our previous work with metal-controlled dimers (MCD), is focused on the generation of novel biomaterial. To this end we are combining the MCD proteins with self-associating silk proteins from spiders and insects. We have yet to publish any of this data and therefore we will wait to describe any details associated with these projects. Below are some fluorescent microscopy and SEM images of preliminary fibers we have thus far generated.
